About the salon

Frenchy’s has been part of Bruntsfield since 2009, and the shape of the business says a lot: it grew out of one therapist’s specialism rather than a franchise plan, later adding a second boutique in Stockbridge. It is a beauty boutique in the true sense — no hair, no mirrors, just treatment rooms and a menu refined rather than expanded.

Services

Waxing is the founding skill and still the busiest column, covering everything from brows to full body. Around it sit nails, brow and lash treatments, spray tanning, massage and a facial menu led by HydraFacial in Signature, Deluxe and Platinum formats. Massage is delivered on heated beds, which makes a real difference in a Scottish winter.

Technology and brands

The HydraFacial device does the heavy lifting on skin — cleanse, exfoliate, extract and infuse in one pass, with LED light therapy layered into the longer versions. Waxing uses LUXE LAB products, and the nail bar works with Ink London and The Gel Bottle, both chosen for pigment and wear rather than shelf appeal. Hygiene protocol is strict, with no double-dipping and single-use consumables.

Team and stylists

Frenchy’s is owned by Vicki, a beauty therapist and waxing specialist qualified through ITEC and holding the CIDESCO diploma — the international benchmark in the trade, and not one many independent salons carry. Hayley manages the boutique alongside treating clients. The team is small enough that consistency between visits is the norm.

The Space

This is a boutique, not a salon floor: warm, closed treatment rooms with heated beds rather than curtained bays, so waxing and intimate treatments are genuinely private. Bruntsfield keeps a neighbourhood-shop feel, with the Stockbridge sister boutique running the same standards. The atmosphere is unfussy rather than clinical.

Can I book online? Yes, online booking covers both boutiques, and you can choose your therapist as you book.

How long do treatments take? A brow wax takes minutes, most waxing fifteen to forty-five, a HydraFacial thirty to sixty depending on tier, and massage sixty.

Do you treat men and children? Men are welcome for waxing, massage and facials. Under-sixteens are limited and need a parent present.

Can I combine treatments in one visit? Yes — waxing with brows and a tan before an event is a common booking. Say so in advance.

Do you sell gift vouchers? Yes, by value or named treatment, usable at either boutique.
